Taieri Gorge Railway

Hey there guys! I'm back to finish telling my weekend tales from 5/27 (the day that I went to Sandfly Bay and explored Dunedin). The next day was another excursion with my ISA group, a free ride on the Taieri Gorge Railway tour.

We left the Dunedin Railway station around 11:30 in the morning, with a day of overcast it seemed perfect to spend all day in a rail car seeing the sights.

Our rail car

Our tour lasted about 4 hourse, covering 116 km from Dunedin to Pukerangi. Along the way, we made stops in Wingatui and Hindon. Unfortunately, the speaker in our car wasn't very loud, so I missed most of what the narrator said. BUT the trip wasn't without entertainment! Our program leader, Dee (aka Momma Dee) brought along her kids George and Emma, who were very enthusiastic to play games of hide and seek with our own Emma.

After reaching our halfway point, it started to rain so I also wasn't able to get many great pictures of my tour, but it was definitely a great way to see some of the countryside around Dunedin!
